Love Redeemed Blog Tour with @SorchaMowbray

15 Nov

Fellow Silken Sheets and Seduction blogger and erotic romance writer extraordaire, Sorcha Mowbray, is visiting the blog today. She has a fabulous new book out this week! And there’s a contest! Woohoo!

Sorcha Mowbray On Writing a Series

First, I love reading a series. I love getting to know characters and then seeing them in other books. So, writing a series was fun for me too! In The Market Series there are not many characters that carry over from book to book. These are novellas so there isn’t a whole lot of room for secondary characters; which means this particular series doesn’t have an extensive amount of characters bouncing around.

That said, there are a few. Okay, two to be exact. The first (and most important!) is Madame Marchander. As the proprietress of the brothel she has a relatively significant role in the first two books, and then will be the heroine in book three. While still being the hard-nosed business woman we met in Love Revealed (Book 1), in Love Redeemed (Book 2) she uses her shrewdness to help further the relationship between Brennan and Serena. By no means is she a matchmaker, but she is smart enough to see the inevitable.

The other character we see in Love Redeemed (Book 2) who reappears in the final book is Celest. One of the senior girls in the house, she often acts in Madame’s stead when required. We don’t know much about her, but she is definitely a presence.

The real continuity of the series comes from the setting. The Market plays a pivotal role in each story from the series. That’s not to say it is the primary scene of all the action, but it is where some of the most important scenes occur. In Love Redeemed (Book 2) it is the location for two key scenes…which I will not giveaway.

But, it is the house itself that binds all three stories together, and in truth leaves the door open for future stories set here. As of now I don’t anticipate more books set at The Market, but stranger things have happened!

What do you love about reading or writing a series? Got a favorite series from any genre?

Love Redeemed Blog Tour & Giveaway:

At each stop of the blog tour I will give away a copy of Love Revealed (Book 1) of the series. At the end of the 11 day tour a grand prize of a $25 All Romance eBook (ARe) store gift card and one copy of my back list will be given away to one lucky winner.

Rules (Cause you know there have to be rules!)

1. Winners of the individual blog stops will not be eligible to win the grand prize

2. One comment per stop will be eligible for the drawings (so be sure to answer my questions!)

3. The contest is open internationally

4. Commenters must include an email so they can be contacted

5. Any prize not claimed within 48hrs will be subject to forfeiture and a new winner drawn

Love Redeemed (Book 2, The Market Series)

Brennan Whitling wants for nothing but the love of a good woman. He has a close family, good friends, and a successful textiles import business. But, a beautiful and elusive young woman he has only seen from afar haunts him. Until a chance meeting leads to far more than dinner.

Serena Freemont has only ever known the life of a prostitute. When an invitation to dinner by a handsome gentleman provides her an opportunity to experience life as a young lady, it’s too tempting to pass up. Much like the man issuing it. After a night of passion she must disappear or face his reaction when the truth is revealed.

To find happiness Serena must shed her past long enough to realize she is worthy of a future. To win her heart, Brennan must show her the redemptive power of love.

“Are you all right, Miss?”

For a moment, for this moment, she was a normal young woman experiencing the attentions of a handsome young man. Heat crept up her cheeks as he held her hatbox out, and the burning had nothing to do with the sun. “I-I— Yes, I am. Thank you.” His blue-gray eyes seemed to bore into her.

“I am so glad. I was sure you were a goner there for a moment.” He flashed a brilliant grin liquefying Serena’s insides instantly. “Please let me introduce myself. I’m Mr. Brennan Whitling of Whitling Textiles Importers and Wholesalers.”

“How do you do, Mr. Whitling?” Serena allowed her lips to curve up ever so slightly. “I am Miss Serena Freemont.”

“It is a pleasure. Might I interest you and your”—he glanced around the bustling street as his grin faded in confusion— “chaperone in a cup of tea?”

A wave of horror swept over Serena. Chaperone? Harlots did not require one of those. “Oh, Aunt Henrietta is in the bookstore, and I fear she will be in there a very long time. I am certain she won’t notice if we slip off for a quick spot of tea.”

“Excellent! There is a lovely little shop just up the street.” A beautiful smile spread across his face, causing her pulse to quicken.

He escorted her up the block where they stopped at a quaint little teashop. They settled in at a table and ordered a pot of tea.

“What has you on Bond Street today, Mr. Whitling?” They sat in semi privacy at the back of the shop.

“Oh, I was visiting some of my customers and taking new orders. I am very glad I was there to help you, and by virtue of said assistance make your acquaintance.” Did his already deep voice grow huskier? Their tea service arrived, dispelling the moment.

“As am I. Landing on my backside in the middle of the street would have been rather embarrassing. But in truth, thank you for your assistance today, and now the tea.” She lifted her freshly prepared cup to her lips and took a dainty sip from the delicate china. Through lowered lashes, she watched his graceful movements as he prepared his own.

“It is my pleasure on both accounts. You seem familiar to me. Have we met somewhere before? A ball perhaps?”

Sorcha Mowbray is a mild mannered office worker by day…okay, so she is actually a mouthy, opinionated, take charge kind of gal who bosses everyone around; but she definitely works in an office. At night she writes romance so hot she sets the sheets on fire! Just ask her slightly singed husband.

She is a long time lover of historical romance, having grown up reading Johanna Lindsey and Judith McNaught. Then she discovered Thea Devine and Susan Johnson. Holy cow! Heroes and heroines could do THAT? From there, things devolved into trying her hand at writing a little smexy. Needless to say, she liked it and she hopes you do too!

Stuck in a Sex (Scene) Rut

7 Nov

I’m blogging at Silken Sheets today. The topic? Sex scene ruts and how I try to avoid them. And, yes, there’s talk of porn. Because I’m a dirty birdie like that. :0

Wicked Sexy!

24 Oct

I’ve always loved the combination of wicked and sexy. Vampires, witches, demons–there’s just something ridiculously, deliciously naughty about these supernatural creatures. There’s a reason I created the Refuge, Texas series. Menage AND supernatural folks? Oh, hell yes!

Halloween is hands-down my favorite time of year. I just love the fall. It’s when I feel the sexiest. No idea why but there it is! I tend to pamper myself more and find time to catch up on my to-be-read pile.

Because I want my readers to have a little wicked sexy pampering and enjoyment of their own, I’m giving away a $25 gift card to Bath and Body Works and a digital copy of Three-Day Weekend (your choice of format.)

This giveaway is open to US and Canadian readers. Just leave a comment below (with your email address!) between now and November 1 and I’ll announce a winner at the end of the hop.

Make sure to keep hopping from blog to blog to enter the other giveaways! Lots of awesome prizes available! You can use the linky thingamajig below or visit the hop’s main site or head on to the next three stops:

What I’ve Been Up To…

2 Oct

It was a ridiculously busy summer here. The fall hasn’t shown any indication of slowing down. So a quick rundown of what I’ve been up to…

I’ve started a new paranormal menage (and more!) series at Siren. The town of Refuge, Texas is an enclave of supernatural folk. You know, witches, werewolves, cat and bear shifters, vampires, fairies and more. I’m halfway through Book #2 (Erin’s book) and almost finished outlining #3. This is a series and a world I’m so excited about and love writing!

I published the first three books in my Holiday Menage series. Two drop-dead sexy Alpha males, one sweet but curious jewelry designer and seven holidays of deliciously naughty fun? What’s not to love?!

We had a great garden this summer. It was a fabulous teaching experience for our kiddo, too. We harvested right around 25 pounds of roma tomatoes, a few pints of cherry tomatoes, two beefsteak tomatoes (my under-producing plants this year,) two dozen zucchini, almost two dozen yellow squash, two cantaloupes, green onions, arugula, and more.

We finished up the fall planting a week ago and already have dozens of sprouting plants. This is a pic of one garden bed. (We have three raised beds at the moment with more planned.) We’re growing kale, broccoli, cauliflower, sweet yellow onions, radishes, arugula, carrots, spinach, two lettuce mixes and various flowers that Nyx chose.

I’m a huge fan of canning! I’ve been doing it for a few years but recently started preserving food hardcore. So far this year I’ve canned blueberry preserves, blackberry and blueberry jam, cherries, peach vanilla jam, pear butter, tomatoes, salsa and more. I’ll probably do applesauce and apple butter as soon as I get a good price on apples. (Did I mention I’m a frugal fiend?!)

Our little monkey turned 3 in September! What a wild, crazy three years it’s been! Kiddo was born with multiple severe heart defects. In the last three years, she’s had two heart surgeries, oral surgery and a hernia repair. We spent more time in hospitals and doctor’s offices than I ever care to remember.

But it was so worth it! Nyx is the sweetest, funniest kid and Dave and I can’t imagine a day without her. And, yes, she’s doing extremely well. She saw her cardiologist yesterday and got a clean bill of health. Her heart function is great and her pulmonary stenosis hasn’t increased. She gets a whole twelve month reprieve from having to visit his office!

So. That’s what I’ve been up to the last few months. I hope to have some good news regarding a new scifi/capture fantasy series very soon. Stay tuned!

Three-Day Weekend (MMFMM Werewolves) Releases Today!

10 Sep

Three-Day Weekend, the first book in my Refuge, Texas paranormal menage (and more!) romance series is available today! This novel introduces us to the town of Refuge, a protected enclave of supernatural citizens, through the eyes of Shelby, a Do-It-Yourself blogger from Houston. She’s looking for some R&R but finds love with the hunky men of the Blackhorse wolf pack:  Con, Ty, Chuck and Alex.

All Shelby Mosley wants is a long weekend of R & R. Finding a wounded wolf smack-dab in the highway and taking shelter with his three owners in their secluded cabin isn’t part of the plan.

But something isn’t quite right with these Blackhorse men. What the heck is up with all the wolf décor? And where do they get off smelling so deliciously good? That ought to be criminal!

Shelby spends a wicked, wild night with the three men. But the cold light of morning brings a startling discovery. Alex isn’t a wolf anymore. He’s an injured man who wants to claim her. Con, Ty, and Chuck are also werewolves who believe she is their mate!

When she learns Alex’s injury was a first strike in a looming war against a new breed of grotesque creatures, Shelby is faced with a choice. She can flee the danger or she can stand with her men and face the coming nightmare.

*The men of the Blackhorse pack share the same last name (wolf pack name) but are NOT siblings.*

Exclusive Excerpt:

Just the four of us. The words echoed round and round in her head. Three men and her. In bed. Doing things. What had happened to the boring, somewhat frigid young woman who had left Houston for a few days to clear her head? Who the heck was this sexpot now inhabiting her body? Where the hell had she been hiding all these years?

Ty stepped forward and began pulling the pillows from the bed and tossing them into a corner. Chuck grasped the patchwork quilt and top sheet and dragged them down to the foot of the bed. Con carefully placed her in the center of the prepared space and took away the towel scrunched around her waist.

Naked and nervous, Shelby sat up and hugged her knees to her chest, shielding her breasts and bare sex from their piercing gazes. Standing around the bed, the men began to undress. She gulped as inch after sinfully sexy inch of tanned flesh was revealed to her. She’d never seen so much muscle. Her fingers just itched to reach and touch all that smooth, brown skin.

Her gaze moved even lower, trailing down those yummy chests to those throbbing cocks. They were long and thick and already shiny with pre-cum. Oh, my! She swallowed hard as she wondered how in the world she was ever going to make those fit.

Ty climbed into bed and sidled up close to her left side. Chuck snuggled up to her right. Con knelt at her feet and rubbed her calves. “Lean back, sweetheart.”

Unable to deny Con anything, Shelby let Ty guide her back to the mattress. Con continued to stroke her legs, easing her into the idea of sharing a tryst with three men. Ty kissed her first, his soft lips dancing across hers for a few wicked moments. Chuck’s lips took over the second Ty’s left. He didn’t waste any time making love to her mouth. His tongue darted between her lips and swirled around hers. He tasted of cinnamon and peaches from the cobbler and ice cream they’d eaten earlier. It was a heady mix of man and sweetness that left her hungry for more.

As Chuck kissed her senseless, Ty caressed her breasts and belly. She’d always been a bit self-conscious about her barely B-cup breasts. For a while, she’d even gone so far as to buy those weird silicone chicken-cutlet-looking things to stuff her bras, but the humidity and heat of one East Texas summer put an end to that experiment. Eventually, she’d learned to just deal with her shape. She’d endeavored to become comfortable in her own skin.

But, surrounded by all these magnificent specimens of the male form, those old insecurities came rushing back to her. With an apologetic and embarrassed smile, she tried to cover her small breasts. “I’m sorry they’re not very sexy.”

“What?” Ty frowned with confusion. Then, as if understanding, he shook his head and slowly dragged her hands free from her bosom. “You’re beautiful, Shelby. I love your breasts.” He bent down and licked a leisurely circle around her nipple. His big hand palmed her flesh. “They’re perfect.”

“You’re perfect,” Con declared, his deep, rumbling voice driving the point home.

“Don’t worry about silly things like that, sugar,” Chuck said as he nipped at her collarbone. “Just focus on us. Let us make you feel good.”

“This is all about you,” Con explained. “Tonight, the three of us are here to make you happy. We’re not leaving this bed until you’ve passed out with sheer pleasure.”

“We want you screaming,” Ty murmured against her breast.

“We want you begging for more,” Chuck said, his teeth grazing her neck.

“Oh, god.” Shelby dropped her head back to the bed and closed her eyes.
